  1. What was the most difficult assessment item you completed in COIS20025 this term (not counting the examination which is not until the examination period)?

Ans The most difficult thing i found in this course was normalization.I was unable to understand the things.

Que 2 What was difficult about it and how would you suggest it could be improved?

Ans : These things can be improved by making students learn the database in efficent manner in this course. If the concepts of database are clear then students will learn the normalization very easily.

3. Name three (3) things you learnt this term in COIS20025.

Ans The three things that i learnt in this course are:

1. ERDs

2 Normalization

3 System designing.

4 .How will you be able to use this knowledge/these skills in your future career?

Ans These things wil help me getting into IT sector very easily and i can fit into the role of system analyst also.

                   Four Type of Maintenance Task

  1. Corrective Maintenance: In this type of maintenance it finds the errors in the system, and fixes those errors. The I.T.  team solve the errors in different ways according to the nature of the errors. In Capriconia Carpool System when there is a problem to generate the reports to the management due to some technical issues. Then I.T department solve this problem according to the problem.

  1. Adaptive Maintenance: In this type of maintenance it adds the enhancements into the existing system. It is used when we need some more features in the system. Then it is good to enhance the existing system rather than making a new system. But it is not so easy to enhance the system because in this type it needs more I.T. assistance. For e.g. In Capriconia Carpool System first ir was the manual system and when we transfer it into the new automatic system then this approach will work.. Then whole reservation will be done automatic rather than manual.

  1. Perfective Maintenance: In this type of approach it make some changes into the existing system so that system can be more reliable and more efficient.

For e.g. In Capriconia Carpool System we should add some changes which make the system more fast and reliable like in that system we can use batter server and database to improve the performance of the system.

  1. Preventive Maintenance: In this type of approach we should consider those are of the system where problem may occur. So we do something to prevent those problems. For e.g. in Capriconia Carpool System when we connect the whole system to internet so that user can book the cars on internet then there are some problem which may occur like hacking, virus, whole data lost.

So to prevent those kind of problems we should consider on the antivirus, anti-hacker softwares and also make backup of data.

Direct Cutover

Through this approach Capriconia Car Pool System cut over the existing manual system to new system.

Benefits:

  1. There  is less possibility of total system failure so it’s less risk oriented.
  2. Timing is imporortant factor of each system,  if any cyclic information related to time is given to the Capriconia Car Pool System then it can only converted through the cutover method.

Limitations:

  1. It is not risk free. If total system fails then whole information may lost.
  2. Without testing it may cause the errors. In new Capriconia Car Pool System if we insert

The wrong information then it may cause the errors. E.g.: while giving input to the system if we give the wrong staff member’s name then it will cause the problem.

      3.   Detecting minor error is also a problem. In new Capriconia Car Pool System when we will

Enter the huge data then it is quite difficult to find the minor errors.

Parellel Operation:

Banefits:

  1. It has backup of old system. If  the new Capriconia Car Pool System doesn’t gives the                 require out put we have the old system.
  2. We can compare the result of new Capriconia Car Pool System with the old system either it is correct or not.

Limitations

1.costly

2. Both system must to do same task.

Pilot Operation:

Banefits:

  1. Less expensive: when we implement the new system in part of organization instead of the whole organization
  2. Reliable and reduce the system failure :  if it works in part of system then it will work successfully in whole organization.

Phased Operation:

Banefits:

  1. When we enter the new system into the subsystem of the existing system then there is less possibility of errors. For eg. While implement the whole system if implement the new automatic system in the part of Capriconia Car Pool System then there will be less possibility of errors.
  2. It is less expensive than the implanting the whole system at once.

Limitations:

  1. If we can not divide the Capriconia Car Pool System into modules then it can not be implanted.

Annotated Bibliography

In this article it is shown that how an audio tape can be useful for the teaching purposes.

In this article second year engineer student use this innovation to solve the mathematically discipline.

So they make more interest in study and they participate in the decision making process. In this articel I try to show that students take

their audio devices in the class room, where they record the voice of the tutor and the whole lecture, In book based lnowledge we get only

limited knowledge, but  using audio devices along with the books this  make the stydy more easy, students should get a lots of help with

this during the exam prepration. and while recording the lecture it also records the example and personal experience shown by the tutor

at time of class. which we cant write in note books.

WEEK SEVEN

  1. What is the name of innovation?

I found the web discussion forms and online quiz,

    pod cast as the Innovation.

2Describe the innovation and how it would work and the service it would provide to students and/or staff.

Web discussion formsIn web discussion forms we discus our daily academic problems. We put the quarries in the forms and release it on the web so that every one can read it, then if any one knows the answer of it, he answer us so this way we get answer as well as we see the things in another point of view And if some time any one knows much than other then he can share his knowledge with this.

Online QuizIn online quiz we get the questions online or on internet. These questions are different for the every student. We can submit the answer as many times so when we submit our answer then those answers will be same so that will enhance our knowledge as well as it is also helpful for the staff because he can view the things in the student’s point of view. Pod CastThis is the electronic gadget. Through this we can tape one’s voice and can hear it later. It is very beneficial for the academics because they can tape the all speech of the tutor and can used for revision of their course.

3.      How did you identify this innovation?

I find out the web discussion forms and online quiz in my course website. There every one submits the post for discussing their views and through online quiz we can enhance our knowledge. But I find the Pod Cast on the television <on NDTV GADGET GURU>.

Question1:  What services/additions would students find interesting and useful on the course website?

Answer:Discussion:   In the course website I found the discussion part very interesting and useful because in it students can discus their academic problems. Which is very beneficial for their study purpose, and they also can visualize the things in another point of view. Which really enhance their knowledge.

Surveys:  In this, surveys are also very important and useful, Surveys is also a good way to collecting the information, Relevant information is very important for analyst to analyze the system

Question 2: What learning and/or teaching strategies might improve the student learning in this course?

Answer:

Interviews:  By giving interviews students can improve in learning. They get personally in touch with the tutor, as same way they become familiar how to give the interviews in the profession world. Tutor also comes to know that what are the weak points of the students, so he can give more focus on it. Interviews are only possible if the numbers of students are not much.

Questionnaires: By giving questionnaires to the students, we can also get the information. In questionnaires a lots of question are given to the students which they have to answer them. The benefit of this is that we don’t have need to contact personally with each student. It is also very useful when the quantity of students is higher. It saves our time then.

Question3:What journals might be useful to search for articles about educational innovations?

Answer:

Research:  Research is important way to search articles about educational innovations. Through research we can gain lots of information. Research can be any; it can be by books, magazines or internet. Research by books gives us the accurate information about history, aim and scope of the particular article. In other hand research by internet gives the current information. Research by internet is very popular because it saves times.

Document Review: Having documentation of all the information about the articles is good. It contains the all relevant and necessary information of all the articles which are in the company. This information can be useful in the future. Document review also helps third person to become familiar about company or company rules-regulations

Qusetion1: What is the Capricornia Car Pool System?Answer: Capricornia Car Pool System is a University’s manualy car parking system for the staff provided by the Facility Management Divison,In it, It maintain the records and do book the reservation of cars for the staff on the basis of price. This is differing for sedan and station wagon and also basis of the model of the cars and the rental period of cars. Question2: What are the current problems with the Capricornia Car Pool System?Answer: Capricornia Pool System is a manual car parking system which intakes following problems:1. Due to the manually system some time it loose the important information.2. While copying the information it may write down the wrong data.3. Very slow process.4. Lost forms.5. Difficult to know that in the given time where the car is and what time it will be back. It also has some problems. 5.1    Statistics problem      5.2  Difficulty to track the maintenance  Question3.  What information do you need to find out about the Capricornia Car Pool System to develop a detailed understanding of the current system? Answer: The information should be relevant about the  Capriconia  Car Pool System. The information should be such type which helps to understand the facts which are responsible for the problems. The information should be such type which one can understand easily for examples: data flow diagrams, entity relation model (it shows the relations between different entities). The information should be feasible and must be trustable. It is also necessary to analyze the information before applying to the system.
